Fall Fun

We've celebrated several birthdays lately. Both W's turned 3. E just turned 4, and next month L will be turning 2. That means lots and lots of yummy cupcakes and treats.

For E's birthday we decorated our own cupcakes. The kids had so much fun!





I took my kids up to Amicalola Falls last weekend, and they collected some great fall foliage for us to do many activities with this week.

So far we have catagorized everything...



We have used them for sensory games like "What's in the bag?", is it rough, soft, hard, prickly...





We hid acorns and small pine cones and went digging for them in the sand box...



And we've had fun on our numerous art projects...





And we have had tons of reading time...

Some of our favorite books are "The Littlest Pumpkin", "Ten Timid Ghosts", and anything having to do with Halloween. We have built forts and I've put all of our Fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving books into a basket so we can read them as often as we like.

How we spent September...

We celebrated Walker turning 3!








Made and played with lots of Play-doh



Worked on our ABC's...hunting, matching, and hanging our letters on a clothes line together.





Blew and popped lots of bubbles...





Had fun with the parachute...







And more and more dough...

Fall happenings...

This last week we:

*melted crayons to make fall colored muffin crayons...we used all fall colors

*used those crayons to color, make leaf prints, and really enjoyed breaking the crayons to put in the muffin pan to melt and make new bigger crayons

*practiced color in the lines in our coloring books

*used crayons and water colors together, painted with our fingers, painted w/ water colors and paint brushes

*went on a nature hike to collect fall leaves, searched for pine cones, and enjoyed talking about the changing colors of all the trees around us

We are all loving this weather and being able to play outside a lot more! The playground and backyard have been wearing us out before nap each day. We've been practicing peddling on the bike and riding on the scooters.

I am not able to post pictures because our computer is having issues and will not allow me to upload my photos. But don't worry I've taken a ton. So as soon as we get the computer fixed I will get all of them loaded and posted.
